    • Type of Radiation Shielded: Gamma rays and X-rays. 
    • Properties: Tungsten is denser than lead and provides excellent shielding for high-energy radiation, though it is more expensive. 
    • Applications: Portable shielding devices, aircraft shielding, and specialized radiation equipment. 
  • Bismuth Radiation Shielding 
    • Type of Radiation Shielded: Gamma rays. 
    • Properties: Bismuth is non-toxic unlike lead and has similar radiation shielding properties, making it a safer alternative. 
    • Applications: Often used in medical devices and as a substitute for lead in radiation shielding.
